# Notifications

> Choose which Kallax.io notifications you get, and turn on push notifications for your phone or computer.

Kallax.io lets you know when something happens that matters to you, such as an event invitation, a new chat message or a friend request. You decide what you hear about and where.

## Where notifications show up

* **In-app**: the bell icon at the top of the page. A badge shows how many new notifications you have. Click the bell to read them, and choose **Mark All as Read** to clear the badge. The bell also shows release notes when Kallax.io gets new features.
* **Push**: notifications sent straight to your phone or computer, even when Kallax.io is not open.

## Choose what you get notified about

Go to **Settings** and scroll to **Notifications**.

The table lists every kind of notification, with a column for **In-app** and a column for **Push**. Tick or untick the boxes, then click **Save changes**.

* Use the **All notifications** row to turn a whole column on or off at once.
* Click a group name, such as **Events**, to expand it and choose notification by notification. The group's checkbox changes all notifications in that group.

## Turn on push notifications

Push notifications are turned on separately for each device, such as your phone and your laptop.

    On the phone or computer you want notifications on, go to **Settings** and scroll to **Notifications**.

    Under **Push Notifications**, click **Enable on this device** and allow notifications when your browser asks.

    Click **Send test notification** to check that it works.

You can also turn push notifications on from the bell menu with **Enable Push Notifications**.

Push notifications are sent to every device you have enabled. To stop them on one device, open **Settings** on that device and click **Disable on this device**.

  If you do not see the **Enable on this device** button, your browser may not support push notifications, or notifications for Kallax.io may be blocked in your browser or phone settings. On iPhone and iPad, add Kallax.io to your home screen with **Install App** first.
